ALS Limited acquires Danish DB Lab

ALS Limited has acquired DB Lab A/S on the 24th of May 2022.

The GMP contract laboratory DB Lab, to be known as ALS Odense, will be a part of ALS’s Nordic pharmaceutical laboratories, together with its three GMP-compliant laboratories in Sweden (Luleå, Sollentuna, and Landskrona).

DB Lab will continue to be a Danish registered company with the same entity registration number. The company will continue to perform the same analyses, assignments and services as before the acquisition.

About DB Lab

DB Lab was founded in 1985 under the name Dansk Bioprotein. Since 1993, DB Lab has performed analyses as a GMP contract laboratory mainly for the pharmaceutical industry.

In 2006, the company decided to close down the R&D department in order to focus on GMP analyses. Its organic expansion required more space, and in 2009 the company moved to its present facilities in Odense. DB Lab possesses 3,200 m2 of which 2,000 m2 are laboratory facilities.

In 2011, DB Lab acquired the company Ampliqon A/S, which produces PCR enzymes and bioreagents. DB Lab has 55 employees today.

The company performs chemical, physical and microbiological analyses on raw material, intermediate and finished products and process samples, etc. Over the years, DB Lab has invested in analysis equipment to be able to meet the different needs of its partners and customers. The company takes on analysis services according to standard methods, such as pharmacopoeia, NMKL etc. as well as tailor-made development and validation of new methods according to ICH guidelines.
